High Court of Justice
The High Court of Justice is the judicial branch of the Zelvan Council's government, it is the guardian of the constitution as well as the laws of the Zelvan Council and the highest court in the land. Its judgments cannot be appealed and serve as case law in lower courts.
Structure
The Zelvan Council's federal court system is centered around four major bodies: the High Court of Justice, the Court of Castes, specialized courts as well as tribunals and the Federal Parole Board. A case concerning a civil matter will first go through the Courts of Castes, the rest will be sent to specialized courts and tribunals, if a case is appealed it will be transferred to the High Court of Justice whose decision cannot be appealed.
Leadership
The Director of Federal Justice is responsible for taking care of the administration of the federal judicial system, archiving the decisions of all the federal courts and confirming the appointments of all new judges to the federal judicial system on the recommendation of the President with candidates provided by an independent commission.
Court of Castes
Deals with cases of a civil nature, they are composed of judges from the caste of the people they judge. The judges are appointed by the Chief Justice on the recommendation of the representatives of the castes, these candidates have been previously elected by the population of the castes.Specialized Courts/Tribunals
Depending on the level of government, the number and subjects dealt with by the courts and tribunals will change. The judges of these are appointed by the Director of Federal Justice from candidates chosen by an independent commission. Although it is possible to appeal these cases, the High Court of Justice can refuse them and it is therefore often the case that disputes have their final words rendered at this level.

The Federal Parole Board is responsible for studying and ruling on the parole of inmates who have been convicted by a federal court. The tribunal must decide whether the inmate can be released from prisons after completing his minimum sentence on criteria such as good behavior or the risk of reoffending; he is free to impose conditions on release.Public Agenda

Assets
The High Court of Justice sits on Aahli in the town of Nazea, which is the capital of the Zelvan Council and therefore where most federal institutions sit. The building also accommodates the other courts that are part of the federal justice system.
