REC-08

REC-08 is a M2 V Red Dwarf Star with two rocky planets, an asteroid belt, and quartet of gas giants. The second planet is the most interesting.
It seems at some point in the distant past, something horrendous happened here. It looks as if a roughly moon sized chunk of the planet broke away, shattering the atmosphere and ecosystem. The planet was once host to an alien civilization, but it seems time and the elements have reduced their civilization to little more than scattered rubble, save for an extensive series of Monoliths  that cover most of the planet.
These monoliths are a curiosity, as various forms of radiation, including radio, seem to gather and coil around them. The coalescing energies around them also make them a potential energy source.
The planet’s currently uninhabitable.
