Traditional Balyom Formal Attire - Sya'kii

Balyoms are a very practical species by nature, and thus have formal attire that can be used for a multitude of occasions, referred to as a sya'kii. This attire is a one-piece outfit, which goes from the shoulders down to the ankles, though some do include helmets or hoods. A long skirt with several cut-outs spreads from the waist downward, offering aesthetic beauty as well as mobility and practicality. Dark blues, purples, and blacks generally make up the outfit. Smooth, elegant fabric makes up the bulk of the outer layers of the top as well as the skirt, and is traditionally spun from the tralf plant. Light scales of metal cover the body beneath it, with the exception of the sleeves and pants in which the metal armor makes up the only layer.

Significance

A Balyom is expected to acquire a sya'kii once their body has finished growing. Given the quality of the fabric as well as the metal armor beneath it, it can be quite expensive. Military leaders often are depicted wearing their sya'kii onto the battlefield, a tradition which is held to this day. Any formal event for an adult Balyom usually requires them to wear this.
