Balyom Table Manners

Even the brutal and short-tempered people that are the Balyoms have their own rules of etiquette for the table. The short and simple of it is that, especially for formal dinners, the Balyoms are to pierce their food with their tails and (carefully) put it into their mouths via that. If this is not possible, as could be the case with something like a soup for example, they are to wrap their tail around the back of their chair or shoulders high enough where everyone at the table can see it easily at any time.

History

This trend started on the battlefield. It became far too common for Balyom generals to invite one another to discuss peace over a meal, only for one (or sometimes both) to impale the other with their tail under the table. This became such an issue that many generals felt something needed to be done. While it isn't sure where this tradition started, it is said to have began as leaving the tip of one's tail on the table, and eventually moved up to where it is today and became popularized, to the point where any formal meal a Balyom eats is expected to be eaten with their tail.
