Also known as the Automatic Speech Apparatus, the ASA is a special type of translator node that is specifically designed for a certain language to another, usually more obscure ones to the galactic standard. Though not as versatile as standard translate nodes, ASAs are much more reliable and accurate with a single set of two languages to translate to. They are popular with races that are either physically unable to speak GS, or whose native language is too strange and is unable to grasp others dialects well enough to efficiently communicate. Due to the many different combinations of any two languages, as well the differing quality of the voice emulators, ASAs tend tend to be more competitive in the market than the lowkey monopoly that Yentang Incorporated has on universal translate nodes.
