Southern Sun

On the western shores under the southern sun lies Alari, the blessed kingdom. Once the jewel of the High Elvin empire, the center of Elvin architecture, and a place of high culture now possessed by a human monarchy where the king is both head of state and leader of the church.   He rules with an iron fist in a land no human can truly control.   Alari is a place were the old gods are forgotten and the new religion of the diving trinity thrives. Saints have taken their place. The saints are preyed to and priests and clerics gain divine favor through them. They hold sway over much of the daily lives of the common folk.   Though this is a land of strict laws and harsh punishment, this is also a land at war with itself. Much of the power lies with the Barons and even they cede authority to the local governments. Peasant clans hold blood feuds, roving bands of orcs and bandits terrorize, and along the northern border, the green mists of chaos leak across the border from the cursed realm.   Now the kingdom is at war with itself, has been for many years. It's a rebellion locked in stalemate between two brothers who both believe it is their rite to rule.
