Sonium

A land of history; with each land containing their own stories and myths to tell, their own inner conflicts, and their own unique flare which separates them from the rest. Inspired by every story/mythology/lore found in, well, reality, Sonium (based from the Latin 'somnium' which means 'dream') is a land made entirely out of one's imagination, where the limit is further than the heavens.   The characters influence the land in a way that they don't notice. In this world, everyone's beliefs are based on where they live, who they live with, and why they believe it. To the people in the northern areas, their legacy is what drives them. They believe that blood is everything, specifically, leaving a legacy behind. The story of their ancestors matter. To people in the southern areas, nature has power. Man is weak without it. The future can never blossom without nature. Lastly, the people at western areas have a more structured belief, where you're born into your caste. You can never rise to a certain point in your caste but you can always fall.   Their beliefs have stemmed from their circumstances. Those Northerners believe what they believe because their ancestors have always lived in tribal ways. They have documented their whole history and have managed to become powerful. The most prominent of the families were the Forgers, a large family whose main characteristic is their red hair. Next, the Southerners have believed nature to be their main guardian because it had protected them from certain disasters (WIP). While the Westerners are mostly driven with the desire to catch up with the rest of the world.   There is a certain family that should be mentioned: The Vallerys. They are the lands' Gods. They believe them to be the creators and they will bow down to them. Certainly, the Vallerys do have power. Power that stemmed from the very lands of Sonium itself. They are powerful anf god-like... but they are human and because of this, a corruption has tainted their history...   In essence, I just want this world to feel real but has a touch of magic to it. I want it to have culture, to have a familiar 'home-y' feeling, and to find comfort in the prospect of over-the-top. I want to make a world free of limitation while also being limited. A world where imagination can run wild but has consequences.   I envision... to much and gosh, I feel overwhelmed....
