Centuries ago, the planet of Illion saw a fleet of steel emerge from the skies and crash on its lands. Tens of thousands of castaways, lost in space, had but no option to claim it as their new home. But the planet has its own secret. It is not the first civilization to try to claim it as its own.
This story takes place in our distant future. After Humanity's failed attempt at leaving Sol, it is integrated to the Trail, a confederation working for the unification of sentient species across the visible universe. Millenia later, a convoy from the Trail is lost in the cosmos. Sonder tells the tale of the descendants of this convoy.
