General Geer (Resistance/Deceased)

When Prince Alfin was a young adventurer, Geer was a young rising officer in the Royal Guard. He received the esteemed but exceptionally troublesome duty of safeguarding the brash prince as he flung himself over and over into dangerous situations. Despite his frequent frustration, Geer soon grew into a kind of older brother figure to the young prince. When Alfin became the royal heir, Geer continued alongside him, becoming captain of his personal guard. When Alfin took the throne Geer became his top military advisor, eventually assuming direct command of the Karnian Royal Army. To his lasting regret, Geer was overseeing training maneuvers in the Hinterlands during the Morin coup (a diversion arranged by a traitorous aide). He quickly shelved his grief and took command of his forces. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Geer brilliantly led his loyal troops in a prolonged campaign against Morin's General Vilhem. In one particularly fierce battle the two generals found themselves face to face in the melee. Master warriors each, they fought a brutal, bone shattering duel. Vilhem claims that he struck a fatal blow against the aging Geer but Geer's body was never recovered from the scene.
