Burrower

Legend

Basic Information

Anatomy

Burrower's stand at a striking 7-8ft tall, they have large bodies but thin legs with spade like feet that stick into the ground. They have developed strong vocal cords that allow them to hum at such a low frequency that it vibrates their body, the vibrations allow the Burrower to swim through the sand as if it were liquid around them, their legs burried deep in the sand allow more distribution for the vibration. Burrower's have a large Myoglobin concentration allowing them to hold their breath for roughly an hour, meaning they only need to surface their head every hour during the day, they tend however to stay partly submerged in the sand throughout the day and burrow to cool down.

Skin
Due to harsh conditions they are under in the Karanchan Desert, Burrowers have extremely thick skin for when they surface from the sand, often their hides are used for leather armour among the tribes. Rather than sweating to cool themselves down they produce a form of mucus that helps to protect them from the sun.
Diet
Their primary source of food and water comes from the Sarala plants, small cactus like plants that hold onto water.

Genetics and Reproduction

Burrowers are mammals and have live births, a female Burrower has a gestation period of 400 days, and a new born Burrower will take roughly 7 years to mature fully.

Ecology and Habitats

Burrower's are only found within the Karanchan Desert. They live in large herds with a dominant male and female, most Burrowers will live and die in the herd and not branch out. They avoid human's at all costs but if threatened will attack.

Additional Information
