Solaris

No one still alive remembers what the first disaster was. All that’s known is that it nearly destroyed everything.   Governments fell. No internet. Total black out.   WIth no government, no one to uphold the laws, anarchy reigned. Then came famine. Many died. The ones who were left were bitter, angry and hopeless. Hardened by the strife.   Some pockets of civilisation remained. Cities that stood steadfast, that didn't fall into ruin like most of the land. But living in these reminders of times lost is hard. Resources are low, people are struggling. People are grasping at whatever they can, religion, leaders. Hope for a better life.   A better chance to not only survive but to thrive.
