Mana Blade

"The Mana Blade is an ancient weapon from before the events of The Great War, which was likely used to collect animal resources as cleanly as possible. Its sleek and hollow design allows it to be lightweight, and the alloy used to forge the blade produces a sharp edge. Its central chamber held Ziel which was used for a purpose that has since been lost to time."
---Loreto Alvarez, 'Beyond the Wall: An Architectural Approach to Ancient Civilizations'

Utility

Field researchers for the book Beyond the Wall: An Architectural Approach to Ancient Civilizations theorize that the blade was used for hunting beasts, as its sharp blade and central Ziel chamber otherwise imply. This weapon was found relatively intact, though there may be other weapons that imploy the same technology.

From the way that the metallic alloy has pockets that expose its Ziel core, it is inferred that there is a necessity for its user to be attuned to the element of the embedded Ziel. This would make the most sense, as Ziel is known to be relatively unpredictable in the way that it works.

Manufacturing

It is fairly difficult to say for certain whether this was made with use of machinery or it was all hand made, as the blade has many imperfections that imply damage or wear. The best guess is that the alloy was melted, then placed into a mold made from a crystalline, Pyre-resistent Ziel mold to allow it to cool in place without fear of seepage. Then, it would be removed from its mold, with a soft tap of a hammer to the back, and its imperfections would be grinded out using a whetstone.

The inner Ziel chamber, however, is far harder to theorize about, as the Ziel within seems to be inert from hundreds of years of neglect. It may be encased in a glass made from crystal sand, which is naturally free of any Ziel due to its structure, but it is unknown which state of matter the Ziel is in when placed inside of it.
