Helarin
"Helarin, or 'enlightened one', is the name that we refer to our high priests. Becoming a priest is seen to be quite a simple affair, but if you look into it further, you would understand that it requires a lot of humility and sacrifice. After all, a Helarin is supposed to be a messenger of the deities, just like the Gazimra that we all show reverence to."

Qualifications
In order to be given the title of Patron Saint, one must first gain education on the relative Asezhurin deities, and become a priest of their preferred place of worship. Many different professions go through similar studies, such as a servant becoming a Housecarl, or an apothecary striving to become a Seer-- to become a Patron Saint, however, a Daemon has to learn how to upkeep a place of worship, such as The Asezhurin Temple.
Most, but not all, Saints also undergo particular studies that line up with their Patron of choice. For an example, a priest of Typhon may end up taking employment as a guardian of Typhon's Caldera before becoming a Flame, or a priest of the Nature Guardian may take up palm-healing as a secondary course.Duties
The Patron Saint's duties is to give spiritual assistance to whomever that enters their place of worship, often through the priests they lead. Depending on their patron, they may employ additional duties specific to their patron, such as particular meditative rites, or therapies using Ziel crystals. Patron Saints also oversee the worshipping grounds, making sure everything is orderly and free of mess.
A job many don't associate with them, a Patron Saint also acts as a formal host, allowing worshippers to take refuge on the holy grounds and providing them with food and shelter. A large majority of Patron Saints live on the holy grounds themselves, which leave many to believe that they indirectly own the land via a strong spiritual connection with their patron.Remove these ads.
