Culture

The culture that Azalea helps facilitate is that of elitism, where Humans have claimed the top of the food chain compared to all other sapients. This also means that the Azalean Defense Force (abbreviated ADF) is the embodiment of Azalean nationalism, as it is one of the only ways that the lower classes can climb the financial ladder for most.

This egoism sometimes, but not always, comes out on the citizens in minor ways, such as frivolous fines for the most banal of charges. This is because the ADF largely remains on standby, and largely only gets paid from the actions that it makes.

Public Agenda

The ADF was the first thing to pass after the Human's so-called "victory" in The Great War. Its mission statement then is the same as it is now: to protect the people of Azalea from sapient threats, despite the fact that no sapient has threatened Humans on a large scale. Nowadays, their mission statement is more of a blanket "protection from harm", but most understand it as a more politically-correct description of their old agenda.

Unfortunately, they have kept this promise in the milennia and a half that it's been around: sapients which are seen by any ADF troops are gunned down on sight, even UFOs. Such a thing happened to Dregrin, who swears to seek out revenge for their Daemon parent.
