Solara

Long after humans left Earth due to it's diminishing environment and resource limitations, one man made our civilization whole again under the banner of The Mills Solarian Empire (MSE). This empire spans across The Solar System in what is often referred to as Solara. Solara is made up of many cultures, factions and peoples. But one thing remains uniform: government.   The leadership in MSE is highly meritocratic and oligarchic in nature with the reasoning being that a society with an wholly impermanent hierarchy breeds growth in competition. One is able to achieve any rank as long as long as they are competent enough to take it. This is mainly because when Earth was falling apart and society needed to break free from the shackles of the planet, it was those in the private sector who made grand colony vessels and Terra-forming machines that made The entire Solar System livable.   In more current politics, however, many have questioned the whether the lack of elected representation has lead to an infringement of rights. The political known as The Rambunks of Neptune have taken it upon themselves to make a wholly democratic society. They have become quite popular within the empire. but, They have faced scrutiny due to their perceived ties to Skryd, a violent anarchist terror organization.   Whatever place you come from and whichever political stance you take, you will find yourself in hot water in Solara.
