So Below

Our world
As Above,
Beyond the veil,
Betwixt the cracks,
Beneath the waves,
Behind the doors,
Between the lines.
The places we go to see
Thou and They
And Them and Thee
    Our world
So Below,
As seen by those who know
The things that bump the night,
Spirits and spectres and spooks,
The things hiding in plain sight,
Open secrets and uncanny flukes.
  Our world
re-enchanted.

  So Below is a supernatural/paranormal overlay of our own world. Where the Impossible is conveniently swept under the rug. Where the Uncanny is ignored. Where the Unexplainable is rationalized and neatly filed under [To Be Explained]. All the while, we promise ourselves that Science will one day return equipped to deal with those pesky Files.   But you don't see the world that way. Because you know there are more to those Files than what lab reports and data analytics conclude.   We criticize the filtered photos of social media. "They aren't Real", we declare indignantly. But aren't they? What are filters if not just a frameshift in perception?   So Below is about applying those metaphorical Instagram filters to our Reality in order to see our world more fully...   ...in all its Wonder...
