Mail-Blazer
Career
Qualifications
Generally, the only thing that a prospective mail-blazer needs in order to become one is a fast ship and proof that they can use it. If they are applying for a position on a mail-blazer ship, then they need experience or trustworthy qualifications in their field, or maybe they just know the right people. Spacers can be insular, and the mail-blazers are no exception.
Career Progression
There are two main ways in which a mail-blazer progresses, the first being the purchasing of a cargo vessel and becoming a free trader, and the second being the purchasing of multiple ships and starting a mail-blazing company. The way their ship is outfitted may provide oppotunities, with combat oriented ships often becoming professional blockade runners delivering information and supplies to besieged and war-torn planets.
Perception
Purpose
The purpose of a mail-blazer is the delivery of information in the form of computer data from one system to another.
Social Status
The work of a mail-blazer, like most spacers, is a vital part of life in an interstellar society. Whilst possibly the most important of these roles, the mail-blazer is perhaps the least glamourised as many feel that they lead boring lives when compared to the likes of the stellar navies, pirates and even the average free trader.
Operations
