The Dieties

The deities of Sleyterra hold power over different aspects of the world and human nature. They are worshipped and are seen as the original source of magic in the world. Even non-casting classes may be blessed by the granting of a cantrip by a deity they have an afinity for.

Odarin - Diety of Divinity

From Odarin, all Deities were born into the world of Sleyterra. Cultures show Odarin as a humanoid with androgynous features. They are long-limbed and their eyes are depicted in paintings as having swirling stars and clouds without iris or pupil. Oradin has never been assigned a particular gender, as their existence is nebulous and all-encompassing. They hold dominion over divine power and creation. Oradin is called upon by those who use primarily healing magic.

Zhythis - Deity of Death

Zhythis holds power over death and the spirits of the dead. In most of the civilized world, he is generally represented by a male figure with a fatherly softness. There are cults that worship a more sinister figure of Zhythis who depict him as a cruel man. These cults have been known to dabble in necromancy, an affront to those who follow Umera, and these practices are seen as blasphemous by the general public.

Umera - Deity of Life

Umera is the sister of death and holds power over life. Most druids revere Umera in all her forms, as she is represented as both a humanoid female or a host of animal or satyr forms. She is portrayed as jolly and fun-loving. Umera and Zhythis are commonly depicted together as partners to keep balance in the world.

The Elementals - Falindir, Pholindir, Ralindir, Malindir

Falindir, Pholindir, Ralindir, and Malindir are the elemental Deities who shaped the world and set the stage for life and death to happen. Magicians most often align themselves with these four deities and aspire to control the elemental forces they oversee.

Falindir - Deity of Fire

Falindir is a hot-headed male humanoid, usually shown cloaked in flames with skin that is either red, orange, or yellow. He is associated with intensity and passion.

Pholindir - Deity of Water

Pholindir is depicted as either a female or male humanoid with a gently curving figure in shades of blue and teal, they are associated with flexibility and change, as such their appearance will adapt to the circumstances.

Ralindir - Deity of Earth

Ralindir is portrayed as a female humanoid with a muscular build. Her skin is shown as a rich brown or terracotta colour, she is associated with unyielding strength, and conviction.

Malindir - Deity of Wind

Malindir is represented by an androgynous humanoid figure with long limbs and a light build, cloaked in billowing fabrics. They are associated with evasion and unpredictability.

Many paintings will highlight the duality of the Elementals as either forces of creation and protection or wrathful and vengeful. Storms are seen as Malindir’s fury, volcanos are wars waged between Falindir and Ralindir, floods are Pholindir’s displeasure.

Illyos and Iliyas (The Twins) - Deities of Night

The Twins Illyos and Illiyas are depicted as a brightly coloured brother cloaked in starlight and darker sister with starlight shining through her skin like freckles. The pair are in charge of the domain of night. They paint the night with stars, raise the moon, and occasionally bless dreams with the gift of prophecy. They are shown as young and playful.

Tebin - Deity of Love

Tebin is the Deity of Love in all its forms. They are said to appear in the form that is most pleasing to their audience, so they are shown in many forms. The most common portrayal is a three part form with an androgynous figure in the middle and a male and female form on either side. Their skin colour depends heavily on the culture who created the art. They are worshipped by most people in the world and every culture through history has seemed to have a festival devoted to them.
