Amthryllison Dust

Utility

Amthryllison dust, when thrown into the air, will almost immediately solidify in the shape that it was thrown. It is most often used to create simple walls in the air during high-stakes situations, though humans isolated from their Bonds may also use it to form bridges across long distances. Companies will use it in their products to add special growth, durability, and stability aspects. In order to do this, they have to temper it with other materials, or it will quickly fade, as the raw dust does.

Manufacturing

Amthryllison dust is notoriously hard to make, further upping its rarity and cost. For one, Amthryllison flowers, located in the dangerous Outer Realm, only bloom at night, when there's a much higher risk of falling prey to some angry or hungry creature. The blooms, once harvested, must be carefully sifted, boiled, and then set put to let the water evaporate, leaving a fine layer of dust, which can then be harvested and used. If even one mistake is made in the entire process, the batch is lost and more blooms must be harvested to repeat the manufacturing again.

Social Impact

Although it's not used much in daily life, Amthryllison dust has changed the lives of many Charters and members of the Guard, making their jobs safer, more efficient, and even saving lives. The process of manufacturing has even helped in the discovery of the uses of other important dusts and powders, leading to a more advanced and magical sky.

Access & Availability
Amthryllison dust is one of the rarest and most powerful magic that the sky has access to. Thus, it is reserved mainly for Charters and members of the Intercity Guard. Occasionally, high-profit businesses will also purchase it for their use, though every company had a yearly limit that they can buy.

Discovery
First discovered by Charter Thomas Amthryllison (hence the flower's long and complicated name), the Amthryllison flowers were largely overlooked for a long time. Of course, dusts and powders are one of the few distinct ways that Skydwellers channel their magic, so through much trial and error, someone inevitably discovered how to make the dust, and most have immediately realized how valuable it was, because the discovery of the dust was kept secret for almost a decade.
