Headquarters of the Church of the Grand Current Diety.
This building and the associating lands are where the Headquarters of the Church of the Grand Current Deity is based. It is situated close to a certain nexus of Grand Currents. Most of this area is considered sacred by the Church.
Built with a mixture of architecture types, it was build and developed over many years (at least a hundred), with massive amounts of people. A myriad of different head project directors, project directors, architects, foremen, and building companies worked on the construction. It is a tall and expansive building mainly built from stone. Parts of it rest under roof and others under open sky. A lot of the decoration and embellishment in the upper echelon areas are made of Skyglass. It's most impressive feature is a room with a massive chunk of crystal in it. It is so large that it floats itself and anything that enters off the ground. Only the upper echelons are even permitted near the chamber. There exist vastly smaller chunks of crystal in similar set ups in and around the building for devotees to worship and meditate at.
Those who have been in close contact with Skyglass for an extended amount of time (span of years), sometimes admit to hearing whispers on the wind every so often.
The island was discovered by a fledgling church and was uninhabited by humans. They quickly discovered and declared the area sacred space. It was the destination of various pilgrimages for over four hundred years before the Church decided to build on it. It was not an easy or painless decision but various incidents and desperation forced their hand. The first basic attempt was crude. Followers quickly devoted themselves to improving their church and their living situation. It is first and foremost a place of worship, even in current times.
Only devotees are allowed both on the island and anywhere near the Church. Those who are unbelievers or come with foreign interests, are housed and handled in a separate, less extravagant building. If these foreign interests are devotees, they may be allowed to take a short tour of the Church and grounds open to the lower echelons.
