Technology Styles

The three major powers, Krithia, Vadath, and Mokso, each have access to the materials and skills to create clockwork and firearms. Each power has its own unique style, which is adapted by minor powers who gain the ability to make clockwork. Sometimes, minor powers bordering two of the larger powers might combine aspects of their design.   In Krithia, elegance is important. Clockwork devices are usually polished to a sheen, and take an elegant appearance. Machines are crafted with more moving parts than necessary to give it a look of complexity and intelligence. Firearms take a similar approach. They are sleek and stylish. While they are crafted of steel, they are oftentimes plated in copper or gold to give it that particular color and shine.   Vadath technology is not as sleek and elegant as Krithian technology. Instead, Vadath decorates their technology to an absurd degree. Carving art and symbols on every surface available for some pieces. This causes their machinery to be heavier than necessary sometimes, requiring thicker components. Their firearms are kept as steel but also engrained with decorations and art. Most of the time the decorations on a firearm tell stories of the heroics the soldier has performed. Looking through a Vadath officers gun collection can tell you his whole military career.   Mokson technology is, above all, efficient. Their engineers take pride in their efficiency, rather than the style of the machine. This can make their technology to appear boring in comparison to others, but it lasts the longest. Their firearms are famously painted black but are otherwise plain.
