Pact of Frost
A ritual that takes place when someone wishes to enter into a warlock Pact with the Prince of Frost where the warlock is deemed worthy or not by consuming a possibly fatal fruit.
2. Why are you requesting assistance for this?
3. Will you sign a magically binding contract to enter a pact?
4. Do you have any intention of breaking the contract in any way?
5. Who do you owe your allegiance to?
If the questions are answered truthful the warlock successfully enters a pact with the Prince and is able to go about their business. If the individual tells a lie they will slowly turn to solid ice that starts in their throat, then moves outward to their extremities. The Prince will have the frozen person taken to the grove where the isal'gliac grow as a reminder to all that deception will not be tolerated in the Winter Vale.
Original Process
(Before Despair) The individual seeking contract with the Prince will approach him at court. The individual will state their intention of entering into a pact with the Prince and why the pact is requested. The Prince will either decide in the moment or advise that he will think the request over. Once the Prince agrees the individual is to sign a magically binding contract where the signee will be at the beck and call of the Prince for a time while the individual receives a portion of the Prince's power and guidance in return. Both parties are required to uphold their respective parts of the contract or suffer a magical consequence.Current Process
(After Despair) After his love was taken from him the Prince became bitter and easy to anger, the fey refer to the time surrounding the Prince as before despair, and after despair. One of the warlock's who formed a pact with the Prince found a magical way to break the contract set to him. The Prince had him captured and brought before him where the warlock lied, stating he hadn't broken the contract. The Prince force fed him an isal'gliac fruit. A teardrop shaped fruit that only grows in a grove in the middle of the Prince's Despair mountain range located in the Winter Vale. It's said that when the isal'gliac fruit is consumed and the individual tells a lie, they are turned into solid ice. This warlock turned to ice, and ever since this occurrence the Prince requires every person who wishes to enter a contract with him to take in one of the fruit while the Prince asks a series of questions. Most would-be warlocks do not know of this process and think the Prince is just being hospitable.Required Questions

"I winced as the man bit the blue flesh of the fruit that was so cold a fine mist fell from it even in this permafrost continent, and I took an internal gasp as he started to freeze in place."
