The Shaemors of Ardience

Always Changing, Never Divided

"They came to us, a broken and haggard people, their lands taken by the taint. We offered them sanctuary, in return for their vassalage. Now, they are a beautiful and proud people, and a better alliance has never been made." -Ildio Esvimir   The Horned Shaemors remain the only race where every member of the race possesses the aptitude for magic. Every member of the race is given the powers of a warlock, and every member of the race is trained as warriors. They're the only race to have a school of magic particular to them: the School of Metamorphosis. Every Shaemor is a shapeshifter, able to change their shape and form at will. Until adolescence, they have little control over this ability. When they come of age, they're able to choose what they look like normally, meaning that Shaemors are the most diverse of the races. Most opt for a humanoid and horned appearance, but they possess a wide range of skin, eye, and hair tones, from blue to black to white to yellow. The Shaemors lost their land to the Plague, and fled to Ardience for sanctuary. Now, they are vassals of the high elves.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Shaemors are vassals of the High Elves of Ardience. While technically second-class citizens, Shaemors are only below the High Elves on the totem pole, their status higher than the humans, dwarves, and slaves in Ardience. The Shaemors and High Elves have a close relationship, as their governments, both led by Grand Warlocks, work very closely with one another.
