Reaver
The Death that Roars
The necromancer raised his right hand and concentrated. In an instant, he was holding a great axe unlike any the highwaymen had ever seen. As with all Dark Irons, the double-sided axe looked as if it was made of obsidian. A soft red light colored the layered edges that would shred skin to ribbons...
...They were about forty paces away when Markus planted his feet wide and swung low with his axe, sweeping across the air in front of him. He rested his axe on his shoulder and strolled in the direction of those fleeing. As his foot hit the sand, the two closest to Markus crumpled to the ground, clutching their legs and groaning. By his second step, three more fell. With his third step, Suhail, the farthest away, fell hard onto a rock, bounced off it, and curled up in pain. Reavers use summoned weapons with special abilities, can debilitate and disable enemies, and can heal themselves and allies. A high constitution and intelligence/strength are best for reavers.

Career
Qualifications
All warlocks require the gene that allow them to use magic, a factor determined by their species and birth. Of the intelligent races, only humans, orcs, shaemors, and elves have this gene.
Career Progression
It is not until the apprentice tier that a warlock chooses their sect. They spend their time in the novice tier in classroom settings, learning about all the sects of magic in a school: their roles, abilities, common contracts, etc. In order to reach the apprentice tier, a novice warlock must pass a test specific to the sect of magic they wish to study.
Payment & Reimbursement
Warlocks are paid relatively well for their work. Their pay increases with the danger and difficulty of their contracts. As such, the warlocks in the upper tiers make considerably more than the warlocks in the lower tiers.
Other Benefits
All warlocks enjoy the benefits of free room and board at their respective colleges, as well as access to some of the best libraries, armorers, weaponsmiths, and teachers in Rhydallia.
Perception
Purpose
Reavers are the warriors of the school of necromancy. Outside of being hired in combat-focused roles, they are often hired to exterminate pests, protect caravans or villages from bandits or vicious wildlife, and to act as medics or doctors.
Operations
Tools
Reavers are characterized by the weapons they summon known as Dark Irons, manifestations of their magic in the form of a weapon with the sheen of obsidian. The Dark Irons of apprentice and journeyman warlocks are unnamed. Dark Irons take on unique traits, such as an edge that can flay flesh, and often have unusual shapes. In addition to their Dark Irons, reavers learn how to affect peoples' bodies with their magic, for good or for ill. Combat-focused reavers can cause cramps or tear muscles in other people, while other reavers may wish to learn how to mend wounds and alleviate soreness or aches. Once a reaver reaches the adept tier and attends their induction ceremony, they name their Dark Iron and choose its signature trait.
