Tieflings

Tieflings The number of Tieflings sharply increased after the demonic invasion following the Fall of Telenholm. Large cities and communities close to the former kingdom have their fair share of Tieflings. But even before the fall Tieflings were known to exist in Siriande. Though far fewer in number and far more openly persecuted.
Of Kolashè Blood Tieflings that identify their lineage of Kolashè’s blood are trying to claim a stake in this world for themselves. This is made increasingly difficult since it is only a tiny percentage of the Tiefling population that can claim this heritage and it’s near impossible to tell whether the claims have any basis in reality or not. In years prior to the fall these Tieflings traveled the lands in nomadic tribes, often hunted and killed outright when discovered by other residents of the land. Those families that survive have skins in hues of red and black horns prominently upon their foreheads arching backwards. More than Tieflings of other heritage, those of Kolashè blood are more in control of their primal urges and slide more easily away from the evil they inherited from their goddess. Despite this most Tieflings, even those of Kolashè blood, are easily pulled into the evil stereotype through persecution and racism.
The Demonic Wars The Tiefling population exploded during and after the Fall. The Demonic Wars saw an invading army of demonic kin pierce parts of the world never before touched by their vile corruption. The legions of demons also brought with them shapeshifting brothers that mingled with the local population and corrupted strongholds from within. The children resulting from these warbands and infiltrators were irrefutably demonic. They came in a wide array of shades and forms, with horns in all shapes and sizes, pointed teeth, forked tongues and a whole myriad of other demonic physical features. While in most major cities they are now a part of the landscape there are very few places where they are actually considered to be on par with the rest of the humanoids. They are viewed as second rate citizens at best and more often than not this forces them into criminality or slavery. It is more difficult for a Tiefling with heritage from the Demonic Wars to shrug their evil blood, even when they consciously work to be good their blood boils easily and their tempers flare up when they are mistreated.
Charming and Feared Look, I get it. Some of them look downright terrifying. I've had a few of them come through my house. Big tails, horns pointy teeth. Everything your mother warns you about. How much of it is a self fulfilling prophecy though? How would humans fare in a world where they are the embodiment of evil? Some of the Tieflings I've met are the most talented people in their field. Stereotypes are forcing their hand at times. Show me an honest and honourable Tiefling and I can most likely show you a broke and persecuted one. Very few exceptions apply to this rule. The difference between the two kinds of Tiefling are more than just aesthetics. It's probably the years of dilluting the bloodline and strengthening the positive traits, but those that can trace their heritage to before the fall are much less likely to be, what people call, feral. That doesn't mean that they don't get angry through, perhaps there's even some truth to them being more easily provoked than their younger counterparts. The range of those that popped up after the Demonic wars is as varied as the other races combined. The heritage of these Tieflings traces back to the roving hordes after the Fall. All the colours of the rainbow are represented. This colour is also represented in their personalities. There are those that feel justified in persecuting these Tiefling and even in regions where open persecution is frowned upon they are very easily discounted as lesser beings. I've heard that in Eneih, where they are a bit more common, they are allowed to own property. In Lequinet they'd be lucky to be considered property.
