Telenholm

The fallen kingdom
Independence declared in the year 373 before the fall. Destroyed in the year 0 following the cataclysmic event and the Demonic wars that followed.
Everybody knows the current state of affairs in Telenholm. It wasn't always such a downtrodden realm. The cataclysm destroyed a free civilisation that was so liberal it gave rise to several doomsday cults. One of which, the Sons of Aleanurden, formed to attain immortality and wasn't going to wait around for the final day to attain it. Using long hidden and forgotten dark magic they broke the fabric between the material realm and the hellish domain of the nine layers of hell.
The explosion caused by this rupture in the fabric of the material realm was visible throughout the kingdom and they say even under the Anvil Mountains they heard and felt the tremor. The immediate onslaught of the demonic hordes overwhelmed the defenses of Telenholm within the first week. Only to come crashing down on the keep that separated Eneih from Telenholm. The bottleneck funnelled the ground troops of the demonic hordes but the air bound demons penetrated into the surrounding kingdoms and got as far as Lequinet and Dormark Maurr before the first proper defense was mounted.
Currently the Kingdom has been cut off from the rest of the world. No attempts are made to reclaim the lost lands. The lands are nearly fully stripped of their natural resources, a desert wasteland that sustains little to no natural life. Goblinoid tribes and Orcs thrive in the new ecosystem. There’s also isolated pockets of humanoid life. Humans make up the most of these pockets that try to get away from other civilisations throughout the continent. There are rumours of Blood Magic and Necromancy in the region, none of which can truly be substantiated as most adventurers going into the lands don't return. Bands of holy warriors do still enter the region to cleanse it from the scourge, but it is an uphill battle that only keeps the current fragile equilibrium in place.
The Citystate of Enyaltelen stands vigil over the dead kingdom, keeping the demonic hordes and other evil influences away from the rest of the civilised kingdoms.
