Sebiya
Established in the year 374 after the fall under Emperor Allard Steray of House Walda
The great plains of Sebiya roll across the horizon for weeks if you were to travel through it. In the north pineforest and permafrost dominate the landscape, to the south it’s temperate junglelands with mountains. Mixed in between are swamps, steppes and a great lake, called Eker. The capital city is build on the shores of this lake. Due to the fragmented history of the realm's different states one can experience hundreds of different cultures without ever crossing a border and leaving Sebiya.
Sebiya is the youngest name to grace the maps of Siriande. Before the unification of the realm the different regions within its borders had few positive relations with each other. A lot of the unrest in the region was caused by a sparsity of farmable land or other sources of food, mixed with the tempers of nobility flaring up from time to time. The only state that enjoyed any stability was Ekeral, on the shore of the great lake of Eker. It was this state that, during the Demonic Wars following 'The Fall', scrambled in defense of the realms in an effort to stave off the demon hordes. As such Ekeral was recognised as the leading authority in treaties during and following the Demonic Wars.
374 years after the fall this gave credibility to the rise of Emperor Allard Steray of House Walda, the then ruling house of Ekeral. Under his banner he was able to collect a few vassals and through his cunning he was able to take out a few who refused without the use of an army. Once the pieces were in place he began a march on the regions that refused his rule and in a relatively short civil war was able to take the lands he named Sebiya, after a legendary dragon said to be resting on the bottom of the Great Lake Eker. Soon after he established his dominance over the region he started to weed out threats to his throne from within his own ranks. Doing so in secret where needed but often also openly to show his absolute rule. Currently Emperor Allard Steray the Third rules the lands. All the men and women in places of power carefully put there and kept under control through intrigue, politics and an assassination or two.
Recently Emperor Steray the third has been looking outward to grow his lands by conquest again, nibbling away at border regions of neighbouring realms like Eneih and Lequinet. Though so far they have not ventured closer to The Dwarven mountain land of Dormark Maurr.
