Republic of Meinir

An isle of freedom
Fflyd Many ships had gathered in the bays of Ilwyi Ilongau during the demonic war that followed the Fall, and still seafaring is an important aspect of the culture. Quickly after the war many sailors wanted to again work in their profession. Some became merchants, connecting ports all over the known world, while others patrolled the seas around the Fallen Kingdom or started fishing. Very quickly people realized the most of the seafaring expertise was concentrated in what is now the capital of Meinir. and the Nautical University of Flydd was established, many of the nautical improvements that were developed over the past five hundred years were invented, tried and tested through that institution. As the years developed
the Ilongauïn even found a new (or old and forgotten) God, Iròkún, a Neutral God who looks after the sea, the waves and everything in and on them. He is often depicted as a human with a scaly fish tail, a short bushy beard and a golden crown, and grants access to the Tempest and the Trickery domain, his symbol consists of 3 spraying waves. Nobody knows for sure when this God made his first appearance, or who was the first to acknowledge him, but over the years he has gotten more and more followers, and his high priests seem to find more and more lore about him. To join his temple, multiple tests have to be passed, to prove you are smart enough to best the waves, resilient enough to endure them and strong enough to withstand them. While the high priests can be charming and wise, these qualities are not often found in the lower branches of the church.
