Leyliana Aravyre

Leyliana Valroris Aravyre

When Leyliana was very young she already had a knack for books, for taking in information and for research. It was allowed to grow and develop by her family back in her small Forest Elven tribe. When the call came for tribute it was determined one male and one female was required for the Sûlor. She was selected as the female tribute. The ranks of the Sûlor were not kind to her. She had to battle through hellish trials and trainings to get anywhere. After a hundred years in the service her true strength was seen by the right person. She was given an opportunity. The Quesse, a secret agency within the Sûlor, recruited her when she was on the brink of making it as a Captain. The chance to study and research again was too good to pass up. She joined the shadow organisation, foregoing all her progress in the Sûlor and in the eyes of them abandoning her post. Such was the life of a Quesse. Always on the fringes, always in the shadows.   Her research took her to Eneih, a small town called Fishermansvale, rumours were that a cult was calling on dark powers to summon a great demon. She was unable to stop the cult from summoning Zahaziel. Quickly after she met with a small adventuring group, the only ones that saw what had happened first hand. They were easily steered in the right direction and off they went on a quest to gather artifacts in order to banish the Zahaziel demon once and for all. The trip was long and arduous and eventually brought them to Demoran where it all went terribly wrong. Through the meddling of Dragonborn in things they didn't fully understand a portal was opened to a layer of hell. In the ensuing fights four of the party members died. Including the one carrying around all the artefacts they had gathered so far. Defeated by this terrible loss, Leyliana returned to A’Nlao’Tal. After the new Ondath’Cinna council of elders declared war on Destor Leyliana found it difficult to reconcile her beliefs and priorities with those of the leadership.   Luckily the Quesse enjoyed a great deal of liberty in their work and she packed up and headed back to Eneih. She had to find a way to get back on track. The demon had to be slain. She returned to the site of the keep that was granted to her former companions and with the help of Spirit, the warden her team had left there, she started building a home for themselves. In secret, Leyliana started venturing out, going around once again to collect the artefacts needed for the ritual. Spirit followed her every step of the way, they grew close. On their travels they picked up stragglers, outcasts, those displaced by the terrible political situations around the lands. Eight years ago the last piece of the ritual was collected. Now all she needed was a strong group of adventurers brave and foolish enough to take the fight to Zahaziel.   As is normal with strong willed people they had already attracted like minded people. It was easy then to strike out at the demons around them. Quickly their fame spread, and the settlement they had made became known as a bastion of hope against the Demonic horde.   After a terrible disease had stricken the town, she and Spirit were able to track it back to a hag in the forest. The powerful Fey proposed a deal to prevent the entire town from succumbing to the disease. She was in her waning years, had felt her life slipping away. She wanted one of them to stay with her. They denied her request and tried to best her. In a critical moment Leyliana wavered, the Hag got the upper hand and she fell unconscious. Now the choice was given to Spirit. Either she killed Leyliana and then slowly the curse would eat away at the people of Yanámo or she agreed to her original terms. Spirit relented and vowed to stay with her until her dying day. A deal was sealed in blood. Leyliana was transported to the edge of the woods. When she came to she immediately rushed back to the place of the Hag’s cottage, but it was gone. The hag and Spirit had disappeared.   Slowly Leyliana spiraled down into a depression, having lost who she considered her soulmate. This left room for Modderlun to seize more and more control of the triad and fhe operations of the settlement.
