Eneih

A relatively young kingdom, Eneih's line of kings is a short one. The first king claimed independence on what turned out to be six years before the Fall. The vie for independence was built on a prophetic promise:
"A king shall rise and forge a kingdom on the Anvil Through fiery battle the king shall unite the lands The unity created in his blood will last for a quincentenary An age of peace and enlightenment after a long dark night"
The kingdom itself was named after this prophet. The kingdoms neighbouring this new threat reacted swiftly but Gavrin Ishteroo, now known colloquially as the Twilight King, came prepared. He had carefully and secretly amassed a great number of bannermen, having planned for this war years in advance (during his stay in Dormak Maurr). The reactionary forces coming from the kingdoms of Telenholm and Sebya stepped into a land filled with fiercely loyal soldiers and civilians, with traps and ambushes shrewn across the countryside. This combination of inexpensive obstacles and a guerilla style offense make the cost of striking back at the kingdom too steep for the surrounding lands. If a warband was good enough to actually reach a fortified settlement the charismatic king and an overwhelming number of loyal soldiers was there to meet them.
Though far from the sweeping victory he had envisioned the Twilight King was on the winning hand when with a thunderous roar the material plain ripped open and Telenholm fell. Taking the most of the opportunity he took his armies and marched them all the way up to the valley fortress Breachhold (now the location of the Citystate of Enyaltelen) without encountering much resistance. Only when they reached the hold the severity of the situation began to become clear to him. The demon invasion was a threat, not only to his new land but to the entire world. Without any hesitance the fresh king allied himself with the garrison of Breachhold and mounted a defense against this now common enemy.
Fourteen years the kingdoms remained in a state of total war against the demonic incursion. Gavrin one of the main engines behind the combined effort of the continent against the crashing waves of demonspawn. Despite his newfound political role he insisted on joining his men on the battlefield and riding out against the hordes. Using the same tactics he used in defense of his homeland. In the twelfth year of the campaign he rode out against a large gathered army of demons under command of Demon Princess Karraign, the butcher. Known for her ruthless destruction of human life the two sides clashed. It was in this pivotal battle that Eneih lost its first king.
The years after the war Eneih flourished, profiting from their good relations and strategically important location between the demon portal and the rest of the kingdoms. A lot of the local craftsmen were involved in the building of Enyaltelen, adding to the popularity of the royal bloodline that to the commoners seemed solely responsible for dragging them out of barren times. The fact that a demonic invasion was largely responsible for these greener pastures didn't quite seem to connect thanks to the charismatic line of kings. Even all these years later the common people of Eneih adore their royal family. It's no surprise then that when the father of the current King and his twin sister fell deathly ill in their younger years (seven years ago) the country held its collective breath. After the Mages of the Jade Cloak were unable to heal them of their affliction it was concluded that the illness was divine in nature. The Order of the Cleansing Flame was called upon for help and a controversial decision was made. They found that the presence of both the crown prince and his twin sister in the material plane was against divine purpose, one had to be sacrificed in order to safe the other. The princess was sacrificed and the crown prince made a miraculous recovery.
Gavrin Ishteroo III lived to 73 before dying of old age, but had rescinded his throne to his son ten years earlier. Gavrin IV is now at the forefront of the battle against the demonic hoard, like this forefather over 500 years ago. In 563 the demonic army gained a foothold in the western province of Eneih. It has been a long time since the hellish legions defiled the continental mainland and slowly but surely Gavrin is able to rally the old alliances from around the mainland and he rides with Shieldback Dwarves from Goganraund.
Points of interest Irrinsdale The capital of Eneih lays near the spring of the river Irrin, on an island with the bedrock of the city splitting the river around it. The broad river connects the city with the rest of the world. The broad torrent waters makes it an easy city to defend but is very slowly chipping away at the foundation.
