Anvil Heart Dwarves

The main city of Dwarves lies in Dormark Maurr, the Anvil Mountains, and is known by it’s Dwarven name of Dur Fellekan (which translated into Common would be ‘Carved from the Stone’). The robust, stern, Anvil Hearts are an isolationist people that only reluctantly deal with outsiders; most of them never go outside the Anvil Mountains, a vast region in the north east of Siriande.   Those less academically inclined may believe that the common name Dwarves from the mountain is derived from the presidential family's name. In truth they changed their family name to fit their new station.   Outside of this domain they have small settlements, though these are usually claimed by one of the mining guilds, like the Mythril Resolve. Technically considered Dormark Maurr settlements, the Anvil Heart Dwarves are usually only found in executive positions within those towns, overseeing operations with other races doing the heavy lifting. Anvil Hearts feel themselves superior to the Shield Backs and consider themselves closer to the gods in whose image they were created, this belief has resulted in Tholorn Xoth being depicted as an Anvil Heart throughout Dormark Maurr society, against the mainstream understanding that he is a Shield Back Dwarf.   More often than not Anvil Hearts will worship Sominor over Thalorn Xoth, especially in the mines, despite the latter’s role as leader of the gods in more common depictions of The Unity.   Those Anvil Hearts that do worship Thalorn first and foremost are usually the more academically inclined members of society; it is these Dwarven scholars that are also the biggest proponents of an Anvil Heart Thalorn Xoth.   Due to their continued residence inside large mountain keeps, shielded from the sun, the Anvil Heart Dwarves usually have a pale skin. Complimenting this skin tone is hair in different shades of brown and dirty blond. Their eyes are most commonly in the spectrum of blue and grey. Anvil Heart Dwarves derive most of their identity from the guild their house aligns with. Hallmarks of the most prominent of these guilds have supplanted older family crests as the most important visual markings on banners and clothing.
