The Grandmaster at Arms Obijiax Oki Laia (a.k.a. Jax)

Obijiax (meaning: storyteller) is the fifth Laidia. Born to an unknown mother and father, Obijiax was left to his own as soon as he could walk, talk, and eat on his own. At the age of five he was taken under the wing of the seventh Laidia, Rena, and was trained to be an exceptional fighter and magician. However, he had always had a passion for storytelling.

Personal history

When Rena stepped down from the position of Laidia, Obijiax took her place. He served for ten years, and during so met an Ionian woman - Ani, or Anniebelle (her Noxian name) - with whom he fell in love with. They had a child and named him Donnotavian.

When his child was five, Jax had to distance himself from his family and defend Sila from invaders. During this time, he over exerted his magic, causing him to grow deathly ill. It took him months to recover enough to walk again, and when he did he returned to his family to be told by Ani that his son had died.

Ani then left for Ionia, leaving Obijiax behind to wallow, alone, in his grief. Rena and his advisors told him he should take a break, due to his inability to function, and to travel for a short time to take his mind of his misery.

He has been doing so for nearly twenty years.
