Ceder Dorneveldt

Ceder Wulfram Dorneveldt (a.k.a. The Man of Legend with the Wooden Sword)

Ceder Wulfram Dorneveldt is a figure of myth and legend. Stories of ancient times describe one man wielding a wooden greatsword who has single-handedly changed the fate of the world.   A thousand years ago, the world was nothing like it was now. Magic was scarce, gods ruled over the lands and almost all nations were thriving in their own ways.   One man looked up at the sky wondering if this world had a place for him.   He was found as a baby in a manger at the royal palace of the Ancient Land of Purple Leaves. There he was housed, raised and mentored as a soldier of the royal guard. However, his peers noticed his remarkable physical strength, his unrelenting sense of duty and his indomitable willpower. As he matured, he was destroying the training dummies with a single strike.   One day, he met a mage from a land far away who foretold him of a dark prophecy. The Ancient Land of Eternal Night was about attack his nation and it would throw the whole world out of balance, never to recover. The mage said that the prophecy had a hero who was destined to save the world, and he believed that was Ceder Wulfram Dorneveldt. He had the power to fulfil the prophecy, by traveling the world and reaching the Ancient Land of Eternal Night to stop the attack before it was launched.   He decided to venture out and travel, with his wooden greatsword called Wintersun.   Every nation today has a tale about Ceder's travels. They all seem to be completely different, but they have in common that they tell about Ceder Wulfram Dorneveldt and his traveling companions.   The tale of Ceder seems to end in the Ancient Land of Eternal Night, as he confronts a colossal being that towers hundreds of meters tall before him. They traded blows, the titan never landing a solid hit but Ceder was striking with power and precision. Each moment the slow moving titan spent trying to mortally wound Ceder, the less time he spent noticing the wounds accumulating on its body. As the colossal being was exhausted and mortally wounded, Ceder was able to deliver his final blow and split the titan's form in twain with an unimaginably powerful slash of his wooden sword. In the end, Ceder was the first and only one in recorded myth to slay such a being. The titan collapsed and fell to the ground, shaking the earth with the heft of its limp body.   Then, all of the lands in the world were struck by large meteorites that were emanating enormous amounts of magic essence. The world was changed forever. The gods seemed to have abandoned the world and the nature of the world itself seemed to change. However, the hero of the prophecy fulfilled his destiny.   A thousand years later, children in the whole world are told of his legends. These children themselves will one day grow up to become heroes of their own rights, in the world of Sierra Minor.
