The shattered hammer

The Broken Hammer is a promontory found on the island of Brunloc Iaun and is shaped like a gigantic statue emerging from the waters of the misty lake of Portsvale. If by chance the thick, dark fog clears, onlookers can see this gigantic forearm breaking the surface while wielding its huge hammer with a prissy head. It is said to be the arm and weapon of Ilios, one of the most fervent servants of the lords who was banished and killed after he staged a coup. Legend has it that it was this battle that created the lake and that Ilios' vengeful bitterness is still infused in these waters as well as everything surrounding the lake. A little known and feared place, the broken hammer is certainly a place of magic. Indeed, the hammer of Ilios had the particularity to be made around a crystal with extraordinary properties. In some stories, it is even said that it can open portals to other places, other worlds. Although highly unlikely, this reputation led many inhabitants to believe that the lake was a door to the realm of demons and other nightmares. This rumor was probably accentuated by the supernatural lights seen in the mist, running on the water. Whatever the case, few people have ventured there and returned, and only the frightening cries that seem to echo for years, break the icy silence of these places.

Le marteau brisé est un promontoire trouvé sur l'île de Brunloc Iaun et qui a la forme d'une gigantesque statue sortant des eaux du lac brumeux de Portsvale. Si par chance la brume épaisse et sombre se dissipe, les badaud peuvent voir cet avant bras gigantesque brisant la surface en brandissant son immense marteau à la tête prisée. On raconte qu'il s'agit du bras et l'arme d'Ilios, l'un des plus fervent serviteur des seigneurs qui fut banni et tué après qu'il ait fomenté un coup d'état. La légendre voudrait que c'est cette bataille qui créa le lac et que l'amertume vengeresse d'Ilios soit encore infusée dans ces eaux ainsi que tout ce qui entoure le lac. Lieu méconnu et craint, le marteau brisé est celon certain un haut lieu de magie. en effet, le marteau d'Ilios avait la particularité d'être fait autour d'un crystal aux propriétés extraordinaires. Dans certaines histoire on parle même de la faculté à ouvrir des portails vers d'autres endroits, d'autres monde. Bien que très improbable, cette réputation à amené grand nombre d'habitants à croire que le lac était une porte vers le royaume des démons et autres cauchemards. Cette rumeur à surement été accentuée par les lueurs surnaturelles apperçus dans la brume, courrant sur les flots. Quoi qu'il en soit, rares sont ceux qui s'y sont aventuré et en sont revenu et seul les cris d'épouvantes qui semblent résonner des années durant, viennent brisé le silence glacé de ces lieux.
