Shivulna

Shivulna is distinctly sullen - bleak. Humanoid races work out a meager existence in the shadows of the past, while mysterious and greater forces play out from afar. The scale upon which change takes place here is massive, it has been thousands of years since civilization last existed in what could be reasonably considered a prosperous or hopeful state of growth and development, and an uncountable infinity since the awakening of its world spirit. But something is amiss with the world itself, and all signs point to the all-consuming, dreadful, immeasurable depths of Shivulna's cold, inhospitable oceans.   The state of Shivulna's civilizations can be explained in three parts:   Firstly, those who dwell in the massive city ruins above Doroik Na, a massive flood plain that leaves only barren rock and uncertainty ensured. Built by a progenitor race long ago, the city complex goes by many names - most notably, "Agga". The city is divided into separate settlements, each built on mountaintops or plateaus, with advanced transportation systems built either above Doroik Na or underneath it. The majority of Agga is ruled by an elite class at the peak of each mountain, frequently inhuman, magical, and secretive. The vast majority of its population lives in the complex and winding underbelly of ancient architecture and dangerous power struggles. The most interesting thing to happen here in a long time was the discovery of the Petroas, petrified remains of thousands, if not more, civilians of the past. While many Petroas are found lying in ruined villages, burial towers and mounds, catacombs, and other such sites of past life, the largest site found to date is the Petoroik Akka, a massive necropolis of immobilized, statue-like humanoids, all encased in stone and stored away. The discovery of these sites sparked the first interest in the world outside of Agga in many years, leading to the development of exploration guilds and even militarized operations to recover the valuable asset that is the Petroas themselves. The ruling class of the small, yet towering city complex of Meyariak Akka, the Ali a Sa, recently devised a method of ressurecting a suitable Petroas. Those deemed in good enough condition can be brought to life once again through a series of complex procedures. With this now known, Meyariak Akka has become revered and dominant in political affairs, and the Petroas have become an extrememly valuable asset to those looking for workers, soldiers, test subjects, and more.   Secondly, the new human cities in the East.   Thirdly, the scattered tribes of the two great wildernesses.
