The Reality of the Reckoning Storm
When the gods want to teach mortal a lesson it's usually through rather extreme shows of their power. Atella's lesson, The Reckoning Storm, is no exception. The mighty storm is riddled in myth, though even if most of the things mentioned in the myth is true, it doesn't show the complete picture of that devastating storm that ravaged Vutara Bay in the year of AE 542.
Damages
Several places in and around Vutara Bay was almost demolished during the storm.
Nakiri Reef
Most of Nakiri Reef, including the Siren city of Nakiri, was torn to pieces in the powerful forces. It was unknown if the reef would even survive after being so thoroughly battered. Some of the creatures who only lived on Nakiri Reef went extinct. Some others were brought so close to extinction nobody believed they would ever fully recover, but they did.
The reef itself had so few living parts left most people around the Bay besieved it would never grow back. Yet, through the next centuries, it did slowly return to a more healthy state. Now, a millennium and a half later, the reef is blooming again, larger and more glorious than it was before the Reckoning Storm.
The city of Nakiri had always been an important settlement among the Sirens, though after the storm it was reduced to a fraction of its former size. However, the location and the importance it had in the Siren culture made it cling on to life. Today it's back to being a bustling city, and a popular place to visit both for its beauty and its cultural experiences.
