Our Lady of Storms
Our Lady of Storms is the name of a complex of impressive structures built as a place of worship to the goddess Atella. Built in AE 1048 by the Church of the Storm Mother, it started as a humble structure. As the church grew in size and influence, the structure grew as well and is now one of the largest religious structures in Vutara Bay.
Structures
There are several structures in the temple complex. The most important ones are the hall of worship and the church administration building.
The Heart of the Church
There are temples and offices to the Church of the Storm Mother all over the Bay. However, Our Lady of Storm is the heart of the organization. This is where the Arch Stormbringer has their office, as well as everyone who has a role associated with the church's administration. All new clergy are appointed here.
Hall of Worship
It is considered a privilege to have your religious rituals in Our Lady of Storm's hall of worship. In higher society it's almost a travesty not having your children's coming of age ceremony in Our Lady of Storms. If they choose a different temple for it, the rumors about being bankrupt or stingy will follow them for years.
There is a reason why only wealthy families do their rituals here, though. The price tag is on level with the privilege of the place. Middle class population will have to spend a year's worth of wages to have their rituals in this temple. There might be years between every middle class ritual done in Our Lady of Storms, but they do happen, usually because someone wants to seem closer to nobility than they really are. This has a slight social backlash, however, as it's seen as desperate to spend above your status.
