The Ruins of Orlyx Keep

The Ruins of Orlyx is all that remains to remind the world of Orlyx, Avatar of the All Mother, and one of the most powerful humans to ever grace the surface of Shirantz. Orlyx was a simple farmer who one day found he could hear the voice of the world. He listened, and the voice told him that the Source, Yiggith, and Kratling were pretenders and usurpers, charlatans who had convinced the sheep that they were the creators of the world.
The voice told Orlyx that these were lies, that the voice belonged to the All Mother, the entity of creation. The All Mother had created the Source, Yiggith, and Kratling and everything else. But, her children were ungrateful curs, and rose up against her. The Source burned her flesh, and Yiggith planted eggs inside the wounds. The eggs hatched a million snakes, but before they could slither out into the world, Kratling killed them, crystallizing their flesh and building an wall of scales around the All Mother.
The god children then buried her deep in the earth, and razed all memory of her from the land. They were in charge now, any remnant of their mother was blasphemy and an affront to them.
The All Mother did not die. Instead, she lay at the bottom of the world, resting and healing, and sending her voice out to those who could hear. None did, until Orlyx, working in his field, answered her call.
With he power he raised an army and set to war against the other cults. The All Mother, with Orlyx as her emissary, had decided it was time for her children to die. To help accomplish, Orlyx and his followers built Orlyx keep, and from there they waged their bloody war.
After years of watching their followers get destroyed by their mother's forces, the three gods came down from their tower and laid waste to Orlyx's troops and his keep, razing the place to the pile of decaying stones it is now. They did not destroy it entirely as they wanted to remind any who would stand against them that their power and wrath was mighty.

Purpose / Function

The purpose of Orlyx's Keep was to act as a center of operations for the All Mother's armies as Orlyx carried out her commands of eradicating her children and their followers. Here the army was housed, and grown, for not only did Orlyx command human worshipers of his god, but he also used the power granted him by the All Mother to create life from nothingness. He used dirt and stone and everything else available to him to call forth his monstrous troops.
The Keep also acted as a beacon of hope for the All Mother's faithful and a sign of despair for her enemies. Those captured and brought to the keep were never seen again in their human form. Some were transformed into grotesqueries and some were used as food. All things served the All Mother.

Alterations

The Keep is all but destroyed now, crushed when The Source, Yiggith, and Kratling could no longer sit back and ignore the pleas of their faithful followers. They descended from the Tower of Eternity, gathered their forces, and marched on the Keep. It was a long, bloody battle that changed the landscape of Shirantz forever, but in the end the child gods were victorious. They tore down the keep, brick by brick, so that only the shell remained, and above it they suspended Orlyx's dead body. The body is still there today, suspended and preserved by magic: a warning to any who would swear fealty to the All Mother.
