Coastal Reavers

The southern shores and outer seas are ripe with danger from krakens and dragon turtles to sahuagin and merfolk but your worry need not be on what's beneath the water, but what sails it. The Coastal Reavers are a loose organisation of pirates, raiders, slavers, and traders. They sail their ships targeting merchant vessels in which they will burn your sails, steal your riches, and take your fittest to sell as slaves. If you think you're safe on the shores you are gravely mistaken as the raiders will target small coastal settlements sometimes sending huge raiding parties who leave no scraps behind or they might send a team to strongarm the citizens into paying a tithe or a tax for their "protection".   As gruesome a reputation the Reavers have they are not beyond business, in fact you'll be hard-pressed to find traders that possess more exotic items than the Reavers. They will sail the far seas and return with riches from faraway lands in which they trade at pop-up markets usually set up on beaches, these markets come and go like the tide. At these markets you can buy slaves, exotic beasts, jewellery and furniture, and the rare magic item or two.   The Reavers make their homes along the southern coast, taking up residence in ports. Many Reavers prefer more seclusion and privacy and instead have set up small shanty towns on tropical islands, many of these islands are not mapped. There is a fort on the Black Shore in the southern coast known as The Black Pike, it is the headquarters of a smaller guerrilla faction of the Reavers known as the Phantom Flotilla. Other notable members of the Reavers are, Cpt. Viko the Viscerator, a goblin who bought his way to power, and his bosun, Broki the Unbreakable, an orc who faithfully guards his captain.
