Famir City

Created fairly soon after the Unraveling, it is one of the oldest establishments in the world, and the oldest in the Famin desert. Mostly a trade city, whose greatest assists are the crystals that grow in the crystal farms that fills the Famin. It is also the home of the Clockwork guild, and the Cat's Tail (working title) guild.

Demographics

Mostly made up of the working middle classes, with a few wealthy families, and merchants. Mixed ethnicities have migrated here when Famir was first built and remains pretty well mixed.

Government

It is run by a Mayor and his counselors voted in by the populace. They set the taxes on the merchants and the items coming in to the city. There is also a small defense group made to help defend the city and surrounding area from bandit attacks, and to help patrol the streets as a police. For large problems the local will sometimes work with the militia, but is separate from the government.

Defences

There is a wall that surrounds the Famir. It helps to protect it from bandits though they're not as prevalent as when it was first created, but it mostly helps to protect against the occasional sand storms.

Industry & Trade

There are some surrounding farms that produces food, but with the harsh desert clime most of the food is imported. Famir relies on what the crystal farms produce to trade for needed supplies, including, but not limited to food, fabric for clothing, some clockwork materials, and wood. There are tailors, grocers, books stores, a local doctor, and people who make clockworks. While not as impressive as Posenton, or Artifar, there are people who build gadgets, vehicles, and small useful clockworks to support the citizens of Famir, and to sell to other towns.

Infrastructure

There is a road system that connects the different farms and towns that dot the Famin desert, and to towns and cities outside of Famin.

Assets

Grain stores, and power crystals are the most valuable assets.

Guilds and Factions

There are a couple of guilds in Famir. One is the Clockwork guild, where different artificers and creators of gadgets work together. The other guild is the Cat's Tail (working title) guild that take on odd jobs of the city and surrounding farms, settlements and towns of Famin desert. Both guilds are separate from government.

History

It was built around 100 years after the Unraveling soon after the discovery of the power of the crystals and when a large plot was found growing.

Architecture

The buildings are mostly built of stone, as enough trees to build a home is rare. The Mayors building is one of the few made of wood, imported from Gadwall.

Geography

It is a desert plain.

Natural Resources

Power crystal grow in abundance in the surrounding area, and crystal farms are used to cultivate them.
