Life line sat in the middle of all of it, a heavy suit the only thing protecting him from being ripped to shreds in some temporal anomaly and scattered through time. The techies said that wasn't likely, though became very evasive when pressed for the exact odds."
Life line is an Earth pony sent back from the time after the apocalypse to shortly before the war with the simple task of capturing as many un-mutated animals as possible. All thinks considered there is little to set him apart from others. He is young, only about 25, and different shades of brown. His main coat is a rich soil brown as are his eyes. His mane is a light brown to tan and kept short as to fit in his special hazmat suit.
Life Line was chosen simply because he didn't stick out. This was important because his task wasn't to change the past, but to try and preserve what would be lost in the next few years. Armed with a custom made rifle designed to stun the target for several hours and several magic items to aid in transporting them back to The Zoo Life set out to do his job. He lives in an enchanted cabin that teleports every few months to a new location allowing him to gather a must greater variety of creatures than would be otherwise possible. Inside is a mirror that works as a gateway to The Zoo, a magic preserve filled with stasis chambers designated for the different species he needs to collect.
His armor is designed to keep him alive by keeping everything else (blight, gasses, mind affects, even cockatrice gazes) out. Without it his job would have been near impossible, even with it he had to regularly repair the thick material. He wears a single amulet which give him immunity to the stasis effects of The Zoo, and some simple pre-war clothes.
