Konsa Settlement in Shatter | World Anvil

Konsa

Konsa is both and city and one of the larger world-fragments in its local region. It's home to a fairly modest number of people by modern standards - a mere fifty thousand souls call the entire fragment home. Konsa imports a good bit of its food by necessity, and relies heavily on the bridges between fragments.

Government

Konsa is run by a single noble house, the children of Kon. Their elders select the city's next leader among the descendants of their common ancestor.

Defences

A tall wall separates Konsa from the swirling mists past the edge of the world - but it's more to keep the unwary in than to keep the void out. The wall has gates at every bridge to other world-fragments.

History

Konsa was officially founded five hundred and seventy eight years ago, by the warlord Kon, who wished for a permanent home for her people. There had been settlements at the location prior - mostly farms and small villages - that had waxed and waned with the fortunes of the world. Kon called upon a friend and ally, the Viridian, a Wizard who specialized in the magics of growing things. Kon established her line as the rulers of Konsa, and quickly developed a plan for the city's future growth - which turned out to be quite needed.

Architecture

The architecture is by and large wooden. It was grown as a living city by an ancient wizard, the Viridian, as a favor to Kon.

Geography

This fragment's geography is hilly, with rich soil once covered in a temperate deciduous forest. The Viridian rose the city from among the trees, and many of the more ancient trees that have the Viridian's mark - having been selected by him for unknown rites - are considered sacred to this day.
