Fup

Fup is a substance unknown in the human world, but it exists uncommonly across the between-worlds in the Ryuven dimension. Its most significant quality is that it suppresses natural Ryuven magic. The Ryuven therefore use it amongst themselves for very specific purposes; fup-forged chains hold prisoners, fup-lined arenas contain magical sparring for training, or fup may even be used to induce pain by suppressing the Ryuven's own vital energy.

Human scholars have not yet identified the source of fup, though they believe it is organic in nature. Ryuven are perhaps understandably reluctant to share many details about this powerful weapon which affects only Ryuven and not humans.

Trade & Market

Few humans are even aware of fup, and none have seen it offered for trade. It would undoubtedly fetch a premium price, due to its unique agency against Ryuven raiders, but no Ryuven have brought this weapon -- highly effective against Ryuven and useless against humans -- into the human world.

Law & Regulation

Fup is generally seen only in official use, such as for restraining state prisoners or in training warriors, but it can be acquired privately for the right price.
