Shael

Shael is permeated by magic, infused with it and it is recovering from it. In the First Age Shael was populated with civilizations that used magic for everything from simple tasks to grand events but they used magic poorly. Magic drains energy from the world and a good sorcerer will balance this loss with the addition of some other form of energy. This was not done.   The more magic was used the more it misuse began to impact the world. Regions drained of natural energy saw crops wither, climates change, animals become terrible beasts and so on. These events brought civilizations to their knees and an end to the glories of the First Age.   Now the world of Shael is healing but on the continent of Elari a sorceress of cataclysmic power is threatening to challenge civilization and unleash another age of un-tethered magic.
