Shadows of the flare (Earth)
World
The year is 2245. Giant cities line the north of what was once the Netherlands and Germany while the south is mostly uninhabited. Iceland and Greenland lives on, not as small countries but instead as economic and scientific powerhouses. Government agents keep the peace with violence permanently marking any who breaks the laws.
Giant constructions called "flares" dot the skyline casting light reflected from the sun onto the streets and what was previously the subway has become an underground network of cities where the ones who wish to avoid the responsibilities of the law dwell since the governments fingers have not reached into the tunnels.
The ones who live above ground are divided into classes depending on their family and intelligence. The ones who are high in class are allowed to get education about the world before while the masses are left only with questions about what happened before the war.
Some people however have gotten enough of this, the dissidents fight with tooth and claw for what was, many killing anyone who opposes them and many others doing their best to be better than the ones who have hurt them. These warriors and peacemakers call are united under the banner of the Winged Serpent.
