Spending Experience

Spending starting experience points follows the rules as described in the Genesys Core Rulebook with the following changes.
Qualities
These are positive and negative traits that the character has acquired as part of their background. Positive qualities cost experience and Negative qualities provide the character with additional starting experience. A character may not have more then two negative qualities. Qualities may not be purchased after character creation. Qualities may be gained, lost, or changed over the course of the story base on story events and cannot be simply "bought off" and any spent experience points will not be recovered. Example: If you have a quality of that gives you a close friend and you treat the friend poorly, they will leave and you will be out the friend and the experience points that you spent to start with the friend.   Qualities can be used as a focus for Motivations such as the quality being the cause of the Motivation or the Motivation being the cause of the quality. Qualities are not required to be tied to Motivations.   Negative Qualities may be able to be bought off through the expenditure of experience points and a suitable quest/adventure. This is subject to GM approval.
