Argenti Mirantor
(a.k.a. The Silver Guardian)
Argenti is one of the Trusted Few at Camp Thrifty, and chief competitor for the unofficial leadership with Tasido Diamond.
She is commonly agreed to be the official founder of Camp Thrifty, although she herself says that the location was being used by smugglers for a long time before her arrival. She is given the accolade because at the height of the initial invasion by the Protectorates, it was through her mix of shrewd diplomacy and fearlessness in battle that she managed to carve out a location for the Camp against Motu and Protectorates alike.
As the Uferbrech wars drove on, she was able to secure armistice between Camp Thrifty and the Motu, as well as organising diplomatic arrangements with the Protectorates to keep Lord Akron's forces away.
No-one knows quite how she managed it, and to this day, the uneasy truce has meant that Camp Thrifty is seen as a neutral ground within the wider conflict. She is well loved by the people of Camp Thrifty as a result and they refer to her the Silver Guardian.
A Stoneforged among kin
Argenti is Stoneforged, and was born in the factories and vats deep within the Stoneforged Assembly. She came of age under the tutelage of the Master Mechanics until her her Second Forging at 100 years of age. As is the custom, she left the Assembly to travel the world and learn from the many people and cultures she came across. Unlike most of the Stoneforged, she grew enamoured of the quickness and diversity of life outside the Assembly, and decided her place would remain in the world at large. She eventually settled in the Uferbrech Archipelago, and was welcomed by the local Motu. She established a friendship with the Tokaru Mother Leoti Windrider who introduced her to the wonders of the Zikiti Crabs. The spiritual experience forever changed her outlook, beyond the normal rigidity of the Stoneforged, to embrace the vibrancy of life.A secret betrayal
Argenti's secret shame lies at the heart of how she secured safety from the Protectorates as their invasion of Uferbrech continues. She was forced to betray the Motu, and especially her friend Leoti in exchange for protection for the burgeoning Camp Thrifty. She gave away the secrets of Leoti's plans to Ackron Der Kustos and this betrayal led directly to the Motu's defeat in Tokaru, the death of Leoti, and the loss of the Mirrorshield of Wala. Argenti longs to atone for this shame, but is unwilling to own up to it for fear she will lose the accolades and support she has amassed in Camp Thrifty. She is forever fearful that others will learn the truth, and this is a hold that Lord Akron, and especially Gorias De Soto exploit at every opportunity.
