Shōbu The land of harmony

The Year of the Owl

Created by

Shōbu is a sprawling world made up mostly of water and islands of varying sizes. Three main bodies of land dominate the edges of the map, each consisting of its own unique biome. To the east lies Apartum, a land lush with trees and bamboo. Looming in the west is the mountainous region of Untergang, where frigid winds blow over the smoking stacks of volcanoes. To the south, there is a sprawling arid land known as Ductu. High above the seemingly motionless waters of the Still Sea hang the strange and mysterious Skylands of Uku. In between, a smattering of islands lead way to the open seas where the Carta Republique's ever-shifting boat citadel drifts across the map.
The tides of power shift as steadily as the currents of the vast oceans that surround these lands. Honor, family, and tradition are an important part of the delicate harmony that protects this realm. There are those who hunger for power, who would cast aside the values of their ancestors to obtain it. Soon, the winds of chaos shall blow across the seas of Shōbu.
A world with two suns and two moons, day and night play an endless game of cat and mouse. Even the sky seems to constantly play a game of tugging at the edges of the map. A great, impermeable storm rages as the border of this known world, appearing to completely encircle it. As the suns and moons vie for control, the seasons grow long and sometimes extreme.
This is a world where contests naturally occur and are encouraged. Through victory, one earns honor and can raise their heads proudly towards the Gods. This is a world where victory and defeat are simply two sides of the same coin, where words are proven by actions, and respect isn't given freely. This is Shōbu.
