Xarith'ra (zah-rith-ra)

The island of Xarith'ra, in the locked realm of Alyzia, is a large island with a magnificent and gorgeous monastery/palace. This island is said to be one of the first places touched by Yadot in Alyzia, and is the home of the Celestial or Opal dragons.   Xarith'ra holds a large library, a collection of all written and recorded material of the realm, especially of the continents of Veii, Cyrenie, and Arachosia. The island's massive building has enough rooms to host a thousand dragons, according to legend, as well as hold a massive orchard and garden. There's also plenty of study and sparring rooms, lounges, and other rooms.   The grounds are made of white marble, and there are few doors. The entire structure is built with dragons in mind, so the ceilings of each floor are at least fifteen feet high. In addition, there are maelica wrapped so deeply into the facilities that only opals can reach the island. The few doors in the structure can be coded to individual dragons, but in the absence of that, can be locked to all but opals.   Many rooms in the upper floors are ceilinged with stained glass pictures, designed to be both gorgeous, and tell stories. The lower floors have rooms designed for taking care of eggs, as well as a number of things. There's even a wing set up for medical emergencies, basic health maintenance, and so on, as well as a number of pools and rivers for play and relaxation.     Vela visits this island after the island's defenses have been locked into place, and she's able to leave, but only opals with the desire to learn and protect are able to visit.  Vela spends about 94 years here, reading everything.   There's a chamber specifically for keeping records, and it records the entire family tree of the opals. There were seven family lines in the beginning, and by the time of the genocide, these long lived creatures are only seeing the third generation.
