Welcome to the Islands- The Setting

Where do you fit?

The hidden area that is The Seven Islands is technically set in a unknown, mystically protected spot in the world of Faerun. Due to the nature of The Settlers Tome, many of the devastating, historical events that have taken place did not affect The Seven Islands. The habitants are well aware of the rest of the world and its events, but tend to feel like it is so far away from them it is hard to have opinions on the matters. The rest of Faerun has kind of forgotten The Seven Islands. It is only still seen on old, historic maps, and in the journals of long passed seafarers. The only people that would currently recognize the name of The Seven Islands would be incredibly well read history scholars and the brave few travelers that happen to survive the treacherous sea leading to it.   The Seven Islands unsurprisingly consist of seven different islands each with distinctly different cultures. These islands are Gilosan, Chegu, Antale, Daylis, Losse, Frenonde, and The Delorian Isles. The islands accept all races and look down upon forms of racial prejudice, but each island has more typical residents that you will see.
Gilosan: Capital Island. A large city under the same name is surrounded by small villages. Common to see any race on this island. The main city holds a tall tower in it’s center. At the bottom of the tower is the congress floor, where the nobles, politicians, and kings of the islands all meet once a year, or when dysfunction occurs.
  • King: Dragonborn man named Draqull
  • Melting pot of culture, it has its towns that are more culturally concentrated than others.
Chegu: small forest island with tribal traditions, under one head chief. Mostly consists of druids and similar individuals. Many races live here, but the natives are typically goliaths, kobolds, firbolgs, and animaloids. Other races typically come from other places, but are always welcomed with open arms.
  • Chief: Tabaxi woman named Amber Sun
  • Similar to african culture, even though the island is covered in forests. The main tribe is at the base of a giant tree whose roots are believed to stretch to all seven islands.
Antale: Large industrial island with mines, oil fields, and industrial businesses. Most new advances in technology typically come from this island, both magical and otherwise. Typically inhabited of dwarves, rock gnomes, orcs/half orcs, and humans.
  • King: Half Orc man named Zomak.
  • Fairly rough and grumble people, working class mostly with their successful owners.
Daylis: Traditional, religious, arcane island, full of monasteries, wizarding colleges, places of worship, and scholarships. Surprisingly strong bond with Antale, even though they do not use much of their technology. Typical residents include high elves, halflings, and dragonborn.
  • Three high priests: Island is run by high priests of the most popularly worshipped deities on the island, Azuth, Eldath, and Helm. None of them go by their names, just high priest/priestess.
Losse: The smallest island consists of three large mountains and only small areas at their base. It is snowing almost year round here, and there are societies inside of the mountains. This island is currently very poor, and is constantly trying to get support from other islands. They have an elected governor, who tries hard to help his people. The few residents are mostly drow, goblins, and shifters.
  • Governor: a goblin man named Iggbub Numbear
Frenonde: The most agriculturally based island. They are a quiet and humble, but wealthy island. They are usually the mediator in most political decisions. They are usually known to be kind people, very family based, and separated in mostly small farming towns with large homes. You may see many aarakocra, tortles, centaurs, and humans. The island has many rolling mountains and plains with large orchards and ranches.
  • Queens: equal partners in married couple of tortle lesbians named Kre and Plum
  • A mix of western farmer culture and asian culture. The majority of the main city is a massive outdoor asian style market.
  • Home of a rare flower, the crimson lily. It is the symbol of romance on the island and has medicinal qualities. The crimson lily, if boiled in rice vinegar, will make one healing potion.
The Delorian Isles: A series of small thin islands with virtually no law. This is a place of outcasts and criminals. Even though it is mostly anarchist, they still mostly get along with the other islands when required, as long as they are allowed to do their own thing. When something threatens all the islands, the isles send a representative. This representative is usually someone in high power on the island, who would be decently eloquent.
  • Representative: a human woman who goes by Theodora Black
  • Actually not as chaotic as people would expect, since people tend to mind their own business
